On October 2, 2019, Attorney Hadi Harp participated in Wayne State University Law School’s Mentor Jet Program, an event designed to connect law students with practicing attorneys for brief, one-on-one conversations about careers in law.
Hosted in collaboration with the National Association of Women Judges, the Detroit Bar Association, and the Wayne County Family Bar Association, the Mentor Jet format gives students the chance to ask direct questions, hear real-world advice, and begin building professional relationships in a supportive setting.
A Practical Approach to Mentorship
During the event, Hadi met with students individually to answer questions and offer perspective on the realities of practicing law. Drawing from his own experience building a law practice, Hadi discussed topics like:
The transition from law school to practice
Choosing and developing a practice area
The value of public interest and pro bono work
The importance of professional integrity and long-term focus
His goal was simple: provide honest, useful insights based on what he’s learned—without sugarcoating the challenges or overstating the rewards.
Supporting the Next Generation of Attorneys
Mentorship has always been part of Hadi’s approach to legal practice. Whether through programs like Mentor Jet or in one-on-one conversations with law students and new attorneys, he sees value in sharing what he’s learned and helping others navigate the early stages of their legal careers.
Participating in the Mentor Jet Program was one way to give back to the legal community in Detroit, Dearborn, Royal Oak, and Southeast Michigan, where Hadi remains actively engaged as both a practitioner and mentor.
A Community-Oriented Legal Career
Mentorship is just one part of Hadi Harp’s broader commitment to service and accessibility in the legal field. By staying connected to local institutions like Wayne Law and supporting the development of future attorneys, he contributes to a more informed and inclusive legal community—something that continues to shape the mission of Harp Law.
